Proton Energy Systems has announced a joint venture with SupplyCore Middle East to provide on-site hydrogen generation and control solutions to Saudi Arabia and the region.
The agreement extends a long-standing partnership between the two firms, which began in 2009 and is to be called Proton Energy Arabia. The agreement now covers sales, installation and servicing of Proton Energy Systems’ hydrogen generation and control solutions for all Arab nations.
Proton Energy Systems, an on-site hydrogen generation and control systems provider, made the announcement at POWER-GEN Middle East. Rob Friedland, President and CEO for Proton Energy Systems commented, “We are excited to enhance our relationship with SupplyCore Middle East and provide our hydrogen generation solutions to businesses, manufacturers and government entities in the Middle East region and beyond.”
Friedland continued, “The agreement demonstrates Proton Energy Systems’ commitment to the region, further solidifies our position as a global leader in on-site hydrogen generation and control systems, and better positions us to support growth in this rapidly expanding market.”
Proton Energy Systems specialises in the design and manufacturing of proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrochemical systems. These enable hydrogen to be produced from water, safely and on-site. The company boasts a burgeoning global presence, as 2,000 systems have been installed across 60 countries to date.
Sattam Al-Suwailem, President and CEO of SupplyCore Middle East, responded to the deal, “The need for power generation in Saudi Arabia has grown over the past few years and will continue to expand as supply tries to keep pace with demand in the coming years. We are very pleased to expand our partnership with Proton Energy Systems, a proven international energy leader, as it enables us to improve upon current power generation solutions in the region.”
