Ryanair customers can offset CO2 emissions with green carbon calculator


Irish airline Ryanair has announced the launch of its new green carbon calculator that will allow customers to offset their carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions released by their Ryanair flight.

To offset the cost of the carbon emissions released per passenger, the total emissions will be calculated and then the customers will contribute to environmental initiatives by paying the full carbon cost of the flight.

Several environmental initiatives have been selected for customers to contribute their carbon offset costs towards, including Renature Monchique – an Algarve-based reforestation project; a Ugandan energy-efficient cookstove distribution project by First Climate; the Turkish Wind Power Plant Project named by Balikesir and Improved Kitchen Regimes in Malawi powered by CO2 Balance.

These projects are all part of Ryanair’s current carbon offset programme, to which customers have contributed over €3.5m to date.
