SaskPower has announced that its carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility at the Boundary Dam Power Station captured 68,478 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) last month.
The CCS facility was online for 88% and was offline for 84 hours to accommodate an outage at the power station.
SaskPower has said that the average daily capture rate was 2,634 tonnes per day with a peak one-day capture rate of 2,799 tonnes.
In 2014, the Boundary Dam Power Station became the first power station globally to successfully deploy CCS technology.
