The commitment was announced during half-year results in which Woodside reported net profit after tax of $1.3bn, which was attributed to a “strong focus” on cost management and reduced spend on new energy and exploration as it prioritised delivering sanctioned projects.
In April, Woodside took a final investment decision on Louisiana LNG, with production slated for 2029, and completed the sell-down of a 40% interest in Louisiana LNG Infrastructure to Stonepeak for $5.7bn in June, which will see Stonepeak contribute 75% of the expected project capital expenditure over 2025 and 2026.
CEO Meg O’Neill said it continues to receive strong interest from potential partners as it explores further sell-downs of Louisiana LNG.
