Praxair, Inc., through its subsidiary Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Industrial Gases Company (SCIPIG), has recently been awarded a 15-year industrial gas supply contract from Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Co., Ltd (SECCO).
The agreement will see SCIPIG supply large volumes of pure oxygen to SECCO for its sulfuric acid regeneration unit.
The pure oxygen will increase the capacity of the unit, significantly reduce its emissions, and improve its overall production efficiency.
SCIPIG will construct a new air separation unit (ASU), with a capacity of 900 tons per day of oxygen, as well as an integrated liquefier. The ASU is expected to start-up in 2015.
