Shell and ITM Power have today opened the UK’s first ‘under the canopy’ hydrogen (H2) refuelling station at Beaconsfield Services in Buckinghamshire.
Situated at one of the UK’s busiest service stations, Shell Beaconsfield on the M40 will be the first site in the UK to bring H2 under the same canopy as petrol and diesel.
Owned and operated by ITM Power, the H2 is generated on-site using an electrolyser that requires only water and electricity to generate the H2 gas.
