Tamboran Resources awards contract to advance NTLNG development

Tamboran Resources has awarded John Wood Group with an engineering contract for its proposed Northern Territory liquefied natural gas (LNG) development in Darwin, Australia, that hopes to reach a 6.6 million tonnes per annum capacity.

Under terms of the contract, the UK-based company will undertake the concept select engineering phase for the LNG development to evaluate the technical and commercial opportunity.

The concept select phase is expected to be complete during the first half of 2024, ahead of entering a pre-front end engineering and design phase later in the year.

Joel Riddle, Managing Director and CEO of Tamboran Resources, said the commencement of the engineering phase signals Tamboran’s intent to design and develop the low emissions facility to process low-reservoir CO2 Beetaloo gas for global LNG customers.
