Texas LNG Brownsville, a subsidiary of Glenfarne Energy Transition, has signed a new Heads of Agreement, securing offtake commitments sufficient for the project to advance to a final investment decision (FID).
Based in the Port of Brownsville, Texas LNG is a proposed four million tonnes per annum liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal. The project developers are targeting a start-up date of 2028.
The most recent deal is a long-term LNG sales and purchase agreement, which has been signed with an investment-grade global LNG player, which has not been disclosed.
Texas LNG’s announcement adds to existing agreements with EQT Corporation, Gunvor Group, and Macquarie Group.
