Tier 1 companies recognised for climate change efforts


Air Products and Praxair have been named in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), which holds the largest database of corporate climate change information in the world.

The two Tier 1 companies are among the 50 whose responses to the CDP’s questionnaire are included in the S&P500 Leadership Index for 2009, which highlights the ‘constituent companies displaying the most professional approach to corporate governance in climate change disclosure practices.’

Companies were scored based on their responses to the CDP’s questions that ranged from greenhouse gas emissions and reduction targets, to risks and opportunities associated with climate change.

John McGlade, Air Products’ Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer said, “We are very proud to have our climate change disclosure practices again be recognised by the CDP and to be included in the prestigious Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index as a best-in-class company.”
