UK energy sector braces for strikes until June


The wave of industrial disruption sweeping the UK is set to impact the oil and gas sector after 1,400 offshore workers voted to strike, according to Unite.

Strike action is set to hit various platforms from March 29-June 7  in a series of 24-, 48- and 72-hour stoppages.

The union has warned operators in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) face a ‘tsunami’ of industrial unrest within weeks as workers across five companies demand better deals on jobs, pay and conditions.
