UK lab company awarded UKAS accreditation


SGS United Kingdom Ltd has become one of the first independent UK-based laboratories to gain UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) accreditation, to perform Refinery Gas Analysis (RGA) by DIN51666 to ISO 17025:2005.

Based in Aberdeen, Scotland, SGS already boasts ISO 17025 accreditation at its key UK laboratories and the latest award adds further scope, extending and further strengthening its testing, analytical and lab-operations credentials.

Independent accreditation body UKAS is recognised by the Government’s Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) to accredit organisations against internationally agreed standards of competence, performance, quality and impartiality.

UKAS accreditation benefits SGS’ customers by increasing confidence in the accuracy and validity of SGS test results, while also enabling customers to demonstrate that their products consistently meet the required standards and are fit for purpose. In addition, the accreditation can avoid time-consuming product re-testing and therefore benefit the export of products.
