Venture Global receives approval to increase capacity at Calcasieu Pass LNG


US liquefied natural gas producer Venture Global has received approval from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to increase capacity at its Calcasieu Pass LNG project in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, to 12.4 million tonnes per annum.

Calcasieu Pass produced its first LNG in 2022 and began commercial operations in April 2025.

Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, thanked the regulators for the approvals.

“These multibillion-dollar investments will be key as the US strengthens global energy security and increases energy trade with our partners,” he said.
