Worthington Industries renames CryoScience cold chain equipment line


One year on after it acquired Taylor-Wharton’s CryoScience product line, Worthington Industries has announced that it is changing the brand name of its cold chain equipment range from ‘CryoScience by Taylor-Wharton’ to ‘Worthington Industries.’

The US-based business purchased the global assets of CryoScience by Taylor-Wharton, including its manufacturing facility in Theodore, Alabama, in a $33.25m transaction in December 2015.

Taylor Wharton began manufacturing its CryoScience product in 1957, developing a robust portfolio of quality products and a strong distribution network in the bioscience space. Worthington has been expanding upon its cryogenic technology portfolio since the takeover in 2015, with the launch of a dedicated beverage carbonation cylinder earlier this year.

Once the acquisition was completed, Jeff Holyoak, Commercial Director of LNG and Cryogenics, signified, “We aim to be the global dominant leader in the current product line that we have. It’s all about keeping the momentum for continuous improvement, creating a secure foundation and generating expansion for new product developments.”
