Messer only resumed selling its products into the German market at the beginning of May, yet the company has boasted a large number of contracts secured in the country since then.

Providing an update of operations in Germany, Messer notes how it has already clinched more than 75 contracts since May 2008, for the supply of liquid gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and argon.

To date, the ‘young’ German Messer subsidiary has installed 25 gas storage facilities at customer sites, with a further 25 to follow by the end of the year and the same again expected through the first half of 2009.

Since May 2008, Messer has also managed to sign contracts with more than 150 new customers in Germany for cylinder gases, with a total annual value of around €2m.

A comprehensive network of 16 sales partners in the states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia ensures reliability of supply to its customers, the company notes.
