Kaifeng Air Separation Group Company Limited has recently announced that the air separation plant (ASU) it manufactured for the Yingde Chizhou project has been successfully started up.

The plant has a capacity of 60,000 Nm3/h oxygen (O2) and is the largest unit that the company has successfully put into operation ever.

The company claims that the whole plant is designed ‘with advanced ideas’ and with ease of operation.

Since the required purity of the nitrogen product is less than 1 ppm (parts-per-million) O2, and the pressure of oxygen exit the cold box is 50kPa, both upper and lower columns have to be packed columns.

The plant was started up mid 2014 and was successful, without any need for modifications. Having already now been running for months, gasworld understands it has been performing steadily to the satisfaction of the client (Yingde Gases).

Founded in 1958 and started manufacturing in 1965, Kaifeng Air Separation Group Company Limited is a key and large enterprise in China specialised in the design and manufacture of air separation plants and is now a subsidiary of the Henan Energy Corporation. The company’s plants have been exported to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, West Europe and Africa.
