Representatives of the gasworld team are back in the UK and the magazine’s Cornwall office, following the resoundingly successful African Conference 2008 held at the Misty Hills Country Hotel complex near Johannesburg last week.

Highlighting the drivers for growth and challenges ahead in the African industrial gases market, the groundbreaking conference proved to be a striking success as leading members of the industrial gas community gathered to address the pressing issues across the continent and the potential for gas demand.

gasworld Conference Manager Sharon Sandercock, magazine Editor Darren Stevens, and News Editor Rob Cockerill all attended the event and were on hand to assist delegates in any way possible – as well as networking and providing support.

The team, which also included new writing recruit Tony Wheatley, were responsible for organisation on the ground and had also been providing live conference updates and news articles on the gasworld website, as the event unfolded.

Having been considered a success and achieving the intended aims of the conference, the team has now returned to its UK office and would like to thank all those involved not only for a positive event, but also a truly memorable experience.
