Air Products is set to highlight its PolarFit™ cryogenic solutions for grinding, de-flashing, process cooling, and inerting at the NPE Expo in Orlando, Florida.
From 1st – 5th April, the company’s portfolio of industrial gas-based technologies and process improvement solutions will be in the spotlight at the event.
Among Air Products’ showcased offerings is the PolarFit™ ultra-fine-grinding mill, which cost-effectively reduces hard-to-grind materials to smaller particle sizes than can be achieved with conventional impact mills. This unique grinding system uses a combination of size reduction mechanisms—including impact, attrition and particle-particle collision—to generate consistent yields of particles between 45 and 240 microns, and in some cases as small as 10 microns.
Through its efficient use of liquid nitrogen to remove heat from the grinding process, the Air Products mill provides ultra-fine to coarse particle sizes, more uniform particle distribution, higher yields of particles in target range, improved product quality due to minimal or no heat damage, less recycling, and lower production costs.
The question has been levelled within the industrial gases business, whether the industry still invests enough in research and development (R&D). Last week saw Tier One player Air Products demonstrate more than 20 years of R&D projects.
In a bid to drive hygiene and safety standards forward in the food packaging industry, Air Products has released a new gas cylinder with in-built barrier technology.
Three days of industry education and business networking is what delegates can expect at this year’s Gases and Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA) Seven Springs Regional Meeting, chaired by Abydee Butler Moore, GAWDA Vice-President.
