Two new major appointments have been made to the top ranks of Air Liquide Italia S.p.A.

Francesco Agostini has been named as General Manager and Managing Director, succeeding Frédéric Lamouroux who has led the Group in Italy since 2012.

Agostini was employed by the Tier One company as an Onsite Sales Engineer in 2001. He was then appointed as Head of Project Management and Strategic Objectives of Air Liquide Italia in 2006 and has held various positions of growing commercial responsibility until 2014 when he was assigned as Commercial Director for Air Liquide Italia’s Industrial Merchant Business Line.

In addition, Gian Luca Cremonesi has been named as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. He first joined the Air Liquide group in 1999 to head up its Large Industries division.

In April 2015, he became a member of Air Liquide’s Board of Directors and one year later he was appointed as Vice-President of its Large Industries business for the South West Europe area, which brings together the company’s subsidiaries of Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.

Cremonesi replaces Maurizio Scarpa who has been in charge for the past decade.

The company’s Board of Directors expressed “grateful gratititude” to both Lamouroux and Scarpa for their service.

Air Liquide has been present in Italy since 1909, providing industrial, technical and medical gases, technologies and services related to industry and health. In 2016, the group achieved sales of €632m ($710m) in Italy.
