Transmet Corporation, supplier of rapidly solidified metal, has developed the Cast Zinc Shot blast media; an effective cleaning process for removing paint and rust from metal compressed gas cylinders without profiling them or removing the metal.
As well as removing paint and rust, Cast Zinc Shot will provide temporary rust prevention after hydrostatic testing and prevent cylinders from rusting before they are repainted.
Transmet’s unique Cast Zinc Shot is hard enough to remove paint and rust, but soft enough to avoid damaging the blast equipment – guaranteeing a consistent blast, free from maintenance and downtime.
Cast Zinc Shot is five times more durable than steel shot; there is five times less dust created because the media resists fracturing, and the dust that is produced can be recycled, creating an alternate revenue stream and eliminating the need to landfill.
Customers that have used the product have reported a cleaner shop with less dust, cleaner and brighter cylinders with no rust, and a quicker and more efficient cleaning process.
