Later this season companies such as Shell, BP and Virgin Atlantic Airways will gather in Barcelona to explore the current- and future- state of affairs regarding biofuels.
The event comes at the perfect time, just prior to the announcement of EC and US policy decisions which will be released at the tail-end of 2011 and are likely to be of great significance to the global biofuels industry.
Questions considered will include the effect of the indirect land use charge on the industry. As well as a discussion of the way in which land use change GHG calculations are to be estimated. On a more North American bias, huge speculation surrounds whether Congress will alter subsidies at the end of the year. Consequently, attendees can expect fervent discussion and timely debate.
According to event organisers, it is for this exact reason, that F.O. Licht’s World Ethanol Biofuels 2011 is expected to be such a success.
The event will take place from 7th-10th November at the W Hotel in Barcelona. Companies set to present include, Shell, BP, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Solazyme, The RFA, Abengoa Bioenergy Trading Europe, The Boeing Company and Verbio.
