Witt develops flashback arrestor for hydrogen systems

Witt has developed a new flashback arrestor that for the first time protects hydrogen systems with particularly high flow rates up to 11 bar (approx. 160 psi) overpressure from fire and explosion.

The gas safety equipment specialist is now able to offer the new H-version, which is an even more powerful model of its universal safety device RF85.

The stainless steel version RF85-30N/H-ES is suitable in particular for hydrogen users working with comparatively high flow rates of up to 900m3/h and offers protection even at 11 bar (approx 160 psi) overpressure, extinguishing dangerous flashbacks and prevents the reverse flow of gases or gas mixtures in the supply line by means of an integrated non-return valve.

Until now, 4 bar (58 psi) had been considered the technical limit, and Witt’s Witten-based Product Manager Andreas Heyer explained, $quot;There is currently no comparable Flashback Arrestor with these features on the market.”
