Finnish energy company WOIMA Finland Oy (WOIMA) will work together with Norwegian carbon capture specialist CO2 Capsol AS to develop modular carbon capture solutions in an effort to accelerate efficient methods of reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The joint venture will involve CO2 Capsol using its carbon capture technology with WOIMA’s wasteWOIMA Waste-to-Energy power plants, creating a smaller, modular emission reduction solution.
Commenting on the partnership, Henri Kinnunen, CEO, WOIMA, said, “CO2 Capsol’s patented energy-efficient carbon capture technology offers us an important missing piece in WOIMA’s circular economy solution portfolio.”
The main aim of the project is to accelerate product development and deployment in the carbon capture sector.
Calling WOIMA one of the leading ‘disruptive technology’ companies within the green transition in Finland, Jan Kielland, CEO, CO2 Capsol also stated, “CO2 Capsol’s unique carbon capture technology is a perfect match with WOIMA’s innovative modular and standardised solutions.”
Pilot project development is due to start immediately.
