Worthington Cylinders has announced a 6 percent price increase on all steel refillable refrigerant cylinders and refrigerant recovery cylinders.

Company executives are defending the increase saying they had undertaken $quot;significant efforts$quot; to keep the prices down. However, they say the price rise follows a noticeable increase in production costs, mostly from brass, steel, paint and energy used in the process.

Dave Burks, director of refrigerant cylinder sales said that that maintaining prices could have affected service quality explaining, $quot;we continue to implement continuous improvement initiatives in our production facilities. However, the raw material increases have significantly impacted the customer's costs.$quot;

Pricing will take effect on all orders shipped on or after March 15 2007.
