The world’s leading trade fair for joining, cutting and surfacing opened its doors for the first time yesterday in Düsseldorf.
Since its inception 60 years ago, Schweissen & Schneiden has established itself as the leading trade fair for the industry and gives a complete overview of all current developments, innovations and trends from the world of joining technology.
The festive start to the event featured guests from the sporting, political and economic fields and was compered by Rudi Cerne.
Organisers are expecting 55,000 visitors from more than 130 countries to attend the five-day event along with 1,000 exhibitors from 41 nations.
Exhibits will include products, processes and services from the automotive and vehicle construction, shipbuilding, machine and plant construction, pipe manufacture and pipeline construction, mining and construction as well as the chemical industry and the production of metal products. Production facilities and robots can also be seen on some futuristically arranged stands.
However, the world leading trade fair is not only a place for new products, processes and services, but is also becoming an important platform for professional exchanges with the DVS Congress in its high-profile supporting program. This year, on the initiative of DVS from 26th to 29th September, the DVS Congress will take place with the Great Welding Technology Conference (GST) and the DVS Student Congress in the Congress Center East of Messe Düsseldorf. In addition, the stage on the DVS Community Stand will be a place for many more program spots. This includes daily DVS TV talks, interviews, victories and much more. Various sweaters, with daily competitions, are another highlight.
A wide range of industrial gas and equipment companies are attending Schweissen & Schneiden this week including Air Liquide, Air Products, Linde AG, Messer Group, Praxair and Witt.
The 19th Schweissen & Schneiden will be held from 25th to 29th September in Düsseldorf.
