Atlas Copco has acquired the assets of THN Druckluft and Produktions GmbH & Co.KG (THN) and also acquired the technology and operating assets of iTrap.
THN, located in the city of Erkelenz, Germany, mainly serves industrial customers and currently has approximately fifteen employees.
The iTrap is an ion trap mass spectrometer instrument capable of highly sensitive real time gas analysis and is used for diagnostics or process controls in semiconductor process chambers.
Located in Oberkochen, southern Germany, iTrap has been part of ZEISS Venture. A few employees will now join Atlas Copco.
Commenting on the THN acquisition, Vagner Rego, Business Area President Compressor Technique, said, “The company has potential for growth in one of the key industrial hubs in Germany.”
“The acquisition will enable developing a stronger direct presence in Germany for the Alup brand.”
On the iTrap acquisition, Rego, added, “The insights the technology can bring into the chemical environment in process chambers, in close to real time, will deliver significant value to our customers.”
“We also see possibilities for synergies with other products used in process chambers.”
THN will become part of the service division within the Compressor Technique Business Area. iTrap will become part of the Semiconductor Chamber Solutions Division in the Business Area Vacuum Technique.
