Chesterfield Special Cylinders (CSC) has secured a £3m contract to supply nitrogen storage solutions to integrated energy provider EDF Energy for its UK nuclear power plants in Heysham, Torness and Hartlepool.
This design and supply contract comprises ultra large high pressure cylinders as nitrogen storage packages manufactured at the CSC facility in Sheffield.
The modular design is seismically qualified to allow ease of installation at EDF Energy’s sites. The cylinder packages will be supplied to EDF Energy by mid-2020.
CSC Commercial Manager Jake Martin, who headed up the team that secured the contract, said, “This is a highly prestigious win for Chesterfield that follows a period of successful collaboration with the EDF Energy team.”
