Edwards is moving to a new cryopump manufacturing and research and development centre in Massachusetts to strengthen its capabilities in the North American market.
The vacuum products manufacturer on Wednesday (18th May) said it hopes to start relocating to the new site, located in Haverhill, this quarter (Q2).
Once operational, the new site will accommodate all new product design and manufacturing activities currently performed at the Edwards facility in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.
Debbora Ahlgren, General Manager at Edwards, said, “The new facility in Haverhill will be a centre of cryogenic innovation offering our customers and the market advances in manufacturing, a materials science innovation lab, and the capacity that is required to meet customer demand.”
When designing the facility, Edwards kept sustainability at heart, and has incorporated solar panels and a rainwater capture system integrated within the facility.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the site took place in September 2021 and saw the participation of Haverhill authorities, including Mayor James Fiorentini.
