A sales manager was concerned. He had just finished a day with a sales rep whose vehicle was full of trash. Not surprisingly, there were other issues with this person’s sales credentials. What are the fundamentals that should be present in any salesperson, or for that matter, any professional? Maybe it’s time to get “back to the basics?”
Keep it neat
Whether it’s your desk, office, vehicle, or personal appearance, always keep things neat and tidy. An adaptation of Forrest Gump’s “stupid is as stupid does” could easily be “sloppy is as sloppy does.” Shoddiness leaves a lasting impression and will kill any sales opportunity.
