Linde Electronics’ booth is front and center as one walks through the door of the South Hall, sprawling with confab concerns, purveyors of valves, speeches about the Internet of Things (IoT), and much more. Linde’s booth is a meticulously arranged conveyance of information, resplendent with coffee and pastries, and when it comes time to meet with Head of Global Marketing Dr. Anish Tolia, I’m spirited around a corner into a room that, to look at it from the outside, one probably wouldn’t know existed. In a vast sea of khakis and background noise: A private place for a chat about the future of gases use in semiconductor fabrication. Who knew?

Around a rectangular table with Dr. Tolia, posters of Linde Electronics’ offerings adorn walls I have to remind myself are temporary. Tolia joined Linde in 2007, holds a Ph.D. from Purdue, and 10 US patents to his credit, and his knowledge of the markets for semiconductors, solid state (LED) lighting, and photovoltaics is expansive.
