Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has delivered its heaviest ever semi-cryogenic propellant tank to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
A historic moment for HAL, the delivery marks the latest move in its partnership with ISRO which spans over the last five decades.
The semi cryo-liquid oxygen tank is set to feature in ISRO’s Mk-III launch vehicle, a three-stage medium-lift launch spacecraft vehicle.
HAL has already delivered critical structures, tankages, satellite structures for the PSLV, GSLV-Mk IIand GSLV-Mk III launch vehicles.
Various new projects like PS2/GS2 integration, semi-cryo structure fabrication and manufacturing of cryo and semi cryo engines are being taken up by HAL.
Installation and commissioning of the infrastructures are near completion, according to a statement.
