Praxair, Inc. has announced a new “Skills Pipeline” program, the company’s multifaceted approach to help address the growing need for skilled workers in today’s global economy.

Praxair has reported second-quarter net income of $467m and diluted earnings per share of $1.58, 5% and 6% above the prior-year quarter, respectively.

Praxair, through a subsidiary, has signed a long-term contract to supply industrial gases to Nanjing Jinling Huntsman New Materials Co., Ltd., a joint venture between SINOPEC Jinling and Huntsman.

Praxair has announced it will further expand its industrial gases facilities located in Kirtland, New Mexico. The expansion will include a new nitrogen plant that will increase production capacity in 2014.

Praxair has secured the start-up of a new 125 tonnes per day non-cryogenic vacuum-pressure-swing-adsorption (VPSA) plant at the Montes del Plata pulp mill.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from Praxair will be presenting at the Oppenheimer 9th Annual Industrial Growth Conference – held in New York on Tuesday the 13th of May.

Praxair is notifying bulk and packaged industrial, and specialty customers in the United States and Puerto Rico of price increases, effective from the 15th of May 2014 or as contracts permit.
