Reganosa awarded contract to operate and maintain Sardinia’s first LNG terminal

Spanish oil and natural gas company Reganosa has confirmed that it will operate and maintain Sardinia’s first LNG terminal in the port of Oristano.

Higas S.r.l. awarded Reganso the operations and comprehensive maintenance contract for the terminal. Importation, storage, and distribution in Oristano are included in this.

The Higas terminal includes a jetty capable of receiving LNG vessel up to 20,000 cubic meters, an unloading arm, six horizontal cryogenic holding tanks, two LNG truck loading bays, and a natural gas captive power generation system.

According to a statement, the terminal can load in excess of 8,000 LNG trucks each year for subsequent distribution to smaller satellite stations across the island.
