A-Gas has received official authorisation in Europe and the UK to process and reintroduce to the market the reclaimed refrigerants R-448A and R-449A, both of which are low global warming potential (GWP) fluorinated gases (F-gases)
This development comes as Chemours unveils a pilot program aimed at allowing selected partners to reclaim two patent-protected refrigerant blends that incorporate both HFC and HFO components. In particular, R-448A and R-449A serve as non-flammable refrigerants, offering a lower GWP alternative to R-404A and R-507 in existing equipment within the region.
Jack Govers, CEO at A-Gas Group, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Chemours and the opportunity to provide an effective Lifecycle Refrigerant Management (LRM) solution. He stated, “We are delighted to support Chemours and the users of these refrigerants in creating an effective Lifecycle Refrigerant Management (LRM) solution, and ensuring that the reclaimed refrigerant matches the equivalent specification and performance of virgin refrigerant.”
