Air Products has won the Overall Community Care Award and the Dual Carbon Contribution Award for 2023 at the 13th China Philanthropy Festival and the 2023 ESG Summit in Beijing.
The industrial gas giant was among 15 companies from various industries that received the Overall Community Care Awareness Award and was one of 15 winners of the Dual Carbon Contribution Award.
Saw Choon Seong, President of Air Products China, said the company is proud to be recognised nine times in a row at the event for our ongoing community efforts.
He continued, “Air Products’ two-pillar growth strategy, with a focus on serving energy, the environment, and emerging markets and solving the most significant sustainability challenges, is aligned with the company’s vision for a better world.”
Air Products has been honoured for nine consecutive years at the event. However, this year marks the first time the company has also received recognition for its ongoing commitment and contributions to China’s green a low-carbon development.
Co-organised annually by key Chinese mainstream media outlets, the China Philanthropy Festival advocates charitable spirit and undertakings. This year’s event also recognised ESG (environmental, social, and governance) performance in support of China’s Dual Carbon goals of carbon peaking by 2030, carbon neutrality by 2060, and sustainable development.
Near the end of last year (November 2023), Air Products and Chinese state-owned tech industry group Chengzhi Shareholding launched a commercial-scale hydrogen fuelling station in Changshu city, Jiangsu province.
Capable of fuelling city buses and heavy-duty trucks in logistics, the station is part of the partnership’s effort to decarbonise transport in China’s Yangtze River Delta.
At the time, Saw Choon Seong recognised that hydrogen plays a key role in decarbonising transport, and added that Air Products is honoured to support the Net Zero transition of China’s mobility sector.
