The two-day World Biogas Expo and Summit returns to Birmingham

Biogas industry unites to focus on delivery

The two-day World Biogas Expo and Summit gets underway at Birmingham NEC today to explore how best to deliver biogas (#MakingBiogasHappen) on a global scale and provide valuable networking opportunities.

This year’s Summit welcomes Jo Tyndall, Director, Environment Directorate, OECD as the keynote speaker alongside 35 high profile speakers from leading organisations such as Nature Energy (acquired by Shell), TotalEnergies, PepsiCo, United Nations, CCAC, and Global Methane Initiative among others.

Charlotte Morton OBE, WBA Chief Executive, said the fifth World Biogas Summit and Expo represent an ‘exceptional opportunity’ for people to come together and identify opportunities and challenges in delivering for the industry and globally.

She said, “There is a huge amount to learn about the latest trends and technologies, what other companies are doing, what is happening in other countries, and this is a platform for a great exchange of ideas as well.”

At its full potential, anaerobic digestion (AD) could deliver 50% of the Global Methane Pledge, to which 155 countries are signatories. Methane mitigation is one of the best strategies available today to deliver immediate and long-lasting benefits for climate, agriculture, human and ecosystem health.

The International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2023 forecasts a rapid growth of the anaerobic digestion (AD) and biogas sector to 2030.

Come and visitgasworld’s Beth Crane and Dominic Ellis on Stand B71, to discuss ways of promoting your biogas business and sharing your news and views.
