Bluefors, a Finnish cryogenics manufacturer, is looking to open a second site in the US, nearly a year on from its acquisition of the US cryocooler business Cryomech. It is also investing in growing the Syracuse, New York site of Cryomech.
The Syracuse facility, where 200 staff are based, is being expanded by about a third, with new manufacturing and office space being created. This will give Bluefors some extra headroom to meet growth projections.
And Geust said there were tentative plans to open a second site elsewhere in the US – most likely on or near the West Coast.
