Carbon Capture Scotland to reuse green CO2 from Iona’s biomethane plants

UK-based Carbon Capture Scotland will capture and re-use green carbon dioxide (CO2) from biomethane anaerobic digestion (AD) plants owned and operated by specialist investment manager Iona Capital (Iona).

The deal builds upon an existing partnership between the two companies at Iona’s Crofthead AD/biogas plant in Dumfries, southwest Scotland – the first and only biomethane facility in Scotland to operate with carbon capture, according to CCSL.

CO2 released at the site is captured by CCSL’s plant adjacent to Crofthead, to be used in the manufacture of dry ice for commercial use.
