Global carbon removal firm Climeworks has signed a 15-year strategic partnership agreement with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) that will support the roll-out of direct air capture (DAC) and storage plants.
The contract covers 800,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) and represents what is believed to be the single largest purchase by Climeworks’ corporate buyers to date.
Jack Huckfeldt, Chief Commercial Officer at Climeworks, said that the partnership hopes to redefine what carbon removal stewardship looks like.
He continued, “Long-term commitments defined the success of the solar energy transition and will undoubtedly become more frequent in our industry too.”
