Decarbonisation Summit launches in New Jersey

The gasworld Decarbonisation Summit: Industrial Gases and Clean Energies 3.0 looks forward to welcoming delegates this evening, ahead of a busy three-day agenda exploring all facets of decarbonisation and industrial gases’ pivotal role in the energy transition.

On the day that the region prepares to witness its first solar eclipse in 99 years, the Summit, being held at the Westin New Jersey Newport, will shed light on key technologies and policy developments needed to acccelerate decarbonisation at a country and international level. The gasworld Summit also includes the North American Hydrogen Summit 2024 on Wednesday and Thursday.

After registration and a Welcome Reception this evening, Makini Byron, Director of Clean Energy Strategy at Linde, will deliver the Opening Keynote on Tuesday morning, followed by the first session on Energy Pathways, featuring insights from Ann-Kathrin Merz, Industry and Strategy Lead at First Ammonia, and Sam Reynolds, from the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), who will explore supply and demand uncertainty and next steps for LNG markets.

The second session will focus on The Hydrogen Society, featuring insights from Brad Stouffer at Energysta Consulting, and the third is the first of two parts dedicated to the key issue of Delivering Decarbonisation, in which Sandeep Gadkary at SIAD Macchine Impianti, Chris Lawson at CRU, Anastasija Kuprijanova from Amogy and Dr. Brian Higgins at Babcock & Wilcox will share their insights. Tuesday will round off with a Drinks Reception and Dinner.

Wednesday’s agenda starts with an exploration of The Clean Value Chain with a presentation from Dr. Robert Do, SGH2 Energy, and the second part of Delivering Decarbonisation will see on stage Alex Shanosky from Transform Materials, Pierre Meurgey at Cryospain and Steve Milward at 8 Rivers. The sixth session will feature a live unscripted panel discussion on key learnings.

Kicking off the North American Hydrogen Summit 2024 will be Matt Krayton at MACH2, providing A Vision for Hydrogen in New Jersey and Mid-Atlantic, and the first session will shine the spotlight on investment opportunities in the US, which will be followed by how best to develop ‘Green Hydrogen at Scale and Technologies to Meet Demand’, with insights from Art Shirley, EVōLOH, William Palmer at Hystar and Christian Reichart at PDC Machines, and a return of the popular Make Hydrogen Happen panel, following on from Kuala Lumpur and London events.

Content Director Rob Cockerill said the gasworld team can’t wait to get going and welcoming delegates from across the US and the world for arguably the most important causes for society and industry alike.

He said, “With its aggressive policies, the US has placed itself front and centre of the clean energy transition, and how it rises to the decarbonisation challenges in the months and years ahead are going to be of utmost importance, not just in the States, but the strategies and decisions they take will impact companies and governments on every continent.”

Key discussion points will be covered online and join the conversation at #GWDECARB
