Japanese trading company Mitsui & Co (Mitsui) has announced that it will invest in the operating company of Russia’s Arctic LNG 2 project.
The investment will be made through Japan Arctic LNG B.V (J-Arc), a Dutch corporation 75% owned by Japan Organisation for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) and 25% owned by Mitsui.
On November 2nd 2023, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury announced that Arctic 2 has been additionally designated as Specially Designated Nationals.
