The Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) has acquired Michigan-based Northern Dry Bulk, adding 36 tractors and 91 trailers to its existing fleet.
Announced today (12th February), the purchase marks KAG’s definitive entrance into the dry bulk transportation business.
Northern Dry Bulk specialises primarily in the transportation and storage of plastic resins for automotive, packaging, electronic, and other end-markets in the US and Canada.
John Rakoczy, Executive Vice-President of Speciality Products at KAG, said, “The transaction fulfils the needs of many of our current liquid bulk customers who also manufacture and distribute dry bulk materials.”
In addition to the 36 tractors and 91 trailers, the news also adds two terminals with two maintenance bays, extensive warehouse space, and transloading capabilities to the KAG business.
Tom, Kunse, Owner and President of Northern Dry Bulk, said, “By joining forces with KAG, both of our current and future customers will benefit from our shared knowledge, geographic footprint, and assets in a marketplace positioned for significant growth opportunities.”
