Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has signed a deal with McPhy, a France-based electrolyser company, for the construction of a Gw (Gigawatt) sized electrolyser manufacturing facility.
Under this partnership, L&T will be granted full access to McPhy’s electrolyser technology. Working together, the partners will explore opportunities in the electrolyser and green hydrogen market.
Subramanian Sarma, Whole time Director – Energy, L&T said, “The energy industry is undergoing a tectonic shift with green hydrogen emerging as a key fuel in the future energy basket. We are delighted to have signed this agreement with McPhy which will be a win-win partnership.”
Under the collaboration, L&T will be licensed to establish a Gw-sized facility based on McPhy’s technology, and will explore the sale of electrolysers and green hydrogen in India and other geographies.
