Pattern Energy has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to explore supplying green ammonia to Mabanaft.
Up to 400 tonnes of green ammonia would be produced by the US energy company daily though wind energy and hydroelectricity at the Port of Argentia, in Newfoundland and Labrador, starting in 2027.
It would be shipped to Hamburg, providing industry in northern Germany ‘and beyond’ with energy from renewable sources.
