Nippon Gases Operations – part of the Nippon Gases Italia group, a European operating company in Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation (NSHD) – will work alongside Enel Green Power to harness the potential of carbon dioxide (CO2) naturally occurring in geothermal fluids.
The agreement will see Nippon Gases build a new plant for the reuse, purification and liquefaction of CO2 present in the geothermal fluids of the Piancastagnaio power plants in the province of Siena, Italy.
Powered entirely by renewable sources, the plant will process the gas to produce ‘green’ CO2 for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical markets.
