Technology company Nokia is making a two-pronged push on industrial digitalisation, launching a suite of six industrial applications alongside a digital automation marketplace that include Nokia and third party tools for industrial enterprises.
The six applications that are built into MX Industrial Edge (MXIE) are designed to enhance industry automation, efficiency, safety, security, and sustainability. The integrated applications are from partners including Bosch Rexroth, Ipsotek, Nozomi Networks, Prosys OPC, SmartCone, and SwitchON.
Among the tools are:
- Prosys OPC UA Forge, which provides a single point of access for collecting data from various industrial assets.
- Bosch Rexroth’s ctrlX OS. This is an operating system for industrial automation. It includes numerous industrial applications to integrate machines, data visualisation, process automation, and secure communication.
- SwitchON DeepInspect. This leverages high-precision AI models to reduce defects, lower inspection costs, and optimise manufacturing processes, while Ipsotek VISuite enhances situational awareness with precise object tracking and AI-powered automation to improve worker safety and production monitoring.
- SmartCone’s HeatGuardian solution. This provides worker heat stress monitoring, ensuring safety in challenging environments.
- The Nozomi Networks Platform (including Guardian sensors). This leverages AI to deliver real-time asset visibility, threat detection, and vulnerability management to cut cyber risk.
Stephan Litjens, Vice-President of Enterprise Campus Edge at Nokia, said enterprises required intelligent, secure, and scalable solutions to navigate the complexities of digital transformation.
