Qatar’s state-owned oil and gas company QatarEnergy has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
The 27-year contract will see QatarEnergy supply four million tonnes per annum from the North Field East LNG expansion project (NFE).
CNPC will also take a 5% stake in one of the NFE LNG trains, with a capacity of eight million tonnes per annum.
Comprised of the North Field South and the North Field East expansion project, the North Field Expansion will be the industry’s largest-ever LNG project.
