Effective 1st August 2016, the Board of Directors of the Measurement, Control & Automation Association (MCAA) has appointed Teresa Sebring as its new President.

As she transitions to retirement, Immediate Past President Cynthia Esher will continue to be involved with the MCAA in an advisory capacity as Executive Consultant to the President.

Sebring joined MCAA in 1997 as administrative assistant to the president and since 2012 has served as vice-president and been responsible for various operations of the MCAA including communications, data programmes and staff oversight, marketing, and meeting/event planning.

Even with the change in leadership, Sebring stressed that the MCAA support system is still in place. She acknowledged that the world is changing faster than ever and the MCAA is ready to deal with those changes, adding, “We have a great team and are lucky to have Cynthia Esher’s wealth of experience and institutional knowledge as a resource in the years to come.”

When asked about her vision for the future of MCAA, Sebring stressed the importance of continuing the legacy set before her and striving to make the MCAA the leading solution provider for the process controls industry.

“We are talking to the next generation of industry leaders and will position MCAA as the go-to solution resource,” she asserted.
