Desert Mountain Energy has appointed Marta Wasko as Vice-President of Geology.

Wasko joins the helium exploration firm with a wealth of experience as a petroleum geologist with a focus on sedimentology and stratigraphy.

She also holds multiple years of experience in exploration, development, reservoir characterisation and wastewater injection, as well as in well planning, permitting and drilling for oil, gas, helium and wastewater while working in both the private sector and state regulation.

On the appointment, Robert Rohlfing, CEO of Desert Mountain Energy, said, “We are extremely pleased we are able to have Marta join our company.”

“She has an outstanding track record within the industry and her overall knowledge of both geology and regulatory compliance aspects are a great fit for our continued growth.”

Wasko joins Dessert Mountain Energy from the Arizona Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, where she served as Programme Administrator.

News of the appointment follows the US firm earlier this month completing the drilling of well #6 for helium in the MacCauley helium field, located in Arizona, US.

The exploration company said the well encountered multiple zones where helium was shown to be present on the mass spectrometer.
