    Invaluable valves

    2022-09-05T08:00:00

Valves are used all along the industrial gas and cryogenic gas supply chains – from production and transportation, transfill operations into storage containers, and end-use customer piping circuits. Three categories of valves used are: 1) valves that isolate product flow, 2) valves that control the flow of a gas or ...

CO2 fundamentals and safety, part two

    2021-01-20T16:53:00

Last month in part one of this article, we discussed the makeup of carbon dioxide (CO2) and the four phases or states of matter for CO2 that we typically deal with (solid, liquid, vapor, and supercritical fluid). On a pressure-temperature phase diagram we learned where these states occur. We learned ...

The carbon dioxide (CO2) molecule is composed of one carbon atom covalently bonded to two oxygen atoms. At less than 0.04%, carbon dioxide is still the fourth most common gas present in the earth’s atmosphere. Natural sources of CO2 include volcanic outgassing, forest fires, biomass decay, animal respiration, and oceanic ...

There is really no such thing as a perfect vacuum – just varying degrees of very low pressure. Even in deep interstellar space, the closest there is to a perfect vacuum, there are still a few hydrogen molecules to be found per cubic meter.
