French pump manufacturer Pfeiffer Vacuum (Pfeiffer) has launched its new HiPace 80 Neo turbopump, a hybrid bearing vacuum pump with patented Laser Balancing technology.

This technology allows the device to produce less vibration and reduce noise emissions, making the pump especially suited for vibration-sensitive applications such as mass spectrometry, electron microscopy, leak detectors and RGA systems.

With integrated sensors guaranteeing the turbopumps maximum operational reliability, the integrated rotor temperature measurement system makes sure the device produces high performance results.

To ensure the product’s reliability, Pfeiffer created a robust hybrid bearing that consists of an oil-lubricated, ceramic ball bearing on the fore-vacuum side and a permanent-magnet radial bearing on the high-vacuum side.

A smaller, lighter design allows the pump easy integration into portable and mobile applications. The automatic accessory recognition component of its micro-USB interfaces will get the system up and running quickly.

Pfeiffer has said its HiPace 80 Neo pumps can run maintenance-free for up to five years, this is due to the utilisation of a new high-performance lubricant which not only improve safety and reliability but also optimises lubrication behaviour and provides higher temperature resistance.
